Purpose Mediation?

The ultimate goal of mediation is to reach an agreement to resolve a dispute.

However, the mediator does not have the task of resolving the dispute but, as a neutral third party, will guide the conflicting parties to find a solution to their dispute themselves. It is the parties who determine to what extent a solution can be achieved.

The mediation agreement is usually in writing and ratifies what was agreed between the parties.

The word agreement means that both parties respect it. Mediation always takes place on a voluntary basis, and it is therefore possible that it ends without an agreement being reached.
